Corn & Soy Solutions Architect Grant Wonderlich explains how John Deere's new ExactShot system works alongside ExactEmerge to improve fertilizer placement on each seed while planting. With exact timing and placement, ExactShot is able to dose each individual seed with starter fertilizer as it is placed, saving on overall fertilizer use compared to continuous in-furrow application. This saves on both time re-filling the fertilizer as well as using less fertilizer overall further reducing input costs.

Linus Rothermich talks about the features of this 5-ton Aulari ALR2304AM air cart he uses to place fertilizer at planting and for sidedressing nitrogen for corn. He’s putting nearly all his fertilizer down with the machine and has eliminated the need to put fertilizer in the crop rows.
