The Colorado Conservation Tillage Association is hosting a workshop focused on increasing farm profits, from economics to equipment and pest management.
Speakers include Michael Casper of the NRCS Colorado, who will discuss ideas that will push attendees to question everything they're doing, how to analyze water-use practices, and finding your comfort zone on the no-till continuum. University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension ag engineer Paul Jasa will talk about the equipment aspect, and share how drills, planters and sprayers, and the use of precision technology, can impact your bottom line. Randy Anderson, a retired Kansas State University professor and extension specialist and research economist, will focus on ecologically based pest management, the biological aspects of weed dynamics, diverse crop-rotation effects on weed populations, and how organic producers can use living plants as weed suppressants.
The workshop is $95 and includes snacks, lunch and materials.
