Väderstad unveils the recent Tempo 10K Project by showcasing their prototype which combines the Väderstad Tempo Row Unit with the Wilrich 10K toolbar. The goal of this project is to determine the best usage of the popular Tempo planter and how to develop it for the United States market.

The Väderstad Carrier XL 40 is the North American version of Carrier XL line which was widely popular with European growers. Developed in Canada, the Carrier XL 40 takes the original carrier line and improves on it for the American market by dividing the 40 ft piece of equipment into 5 sections which allows for added flexibility when adapting to contours in the land.

The new Tempo L high speed planter from Väderstad features optional dry fertilizer tank and updated row units to include small seed closing wheels to help close seed trench and provide consistent seed to soil contact.

Väderstad debuts its Tempo L precision planter, available in 12 or 16 rows and capable of planting speeds of up to 12 mph. The planter has a 1,300 gallon granulated fertilizer tank and row units feature versatile 100-liter tanks for seeding a variety of crops including corn, cotton or sugarbeets. The system can be controlled by a tablet in the tractor cab, run through the company’s E-Services control center. The system allows for wireless control of seeding population, depth control and down pressure. “Also new on this model is the hydraulic weight transfer that can add and take off pressure,” says Philip Westman, sales manager for Eastern Europe, who added that the planter would be introduced to the Canadian market in spring 2017.

At Agritechnica 2015, Vaderstad introduced the Yield String seed meter on their high-speed Tempo planter.
