Lewis Krueger, CEO of Cross Slot No-Till Systems in Appleton, Wis., talks about the unique seed delivery mechanism of the Cross Slot drill, how the gangs can be raised and lowered for different row spacing options, and some design and production changes that are in the works now that these machines are being made in the U.S.
Watched video, several unanswered questions...on 700 acres, the need for 500 horse tractor to pull 40 ft of air seeder/cross slot with cart in tow...
Repair time, getting to the front gang openers....how high does the mechanism lift?
What about 7.5 inch spacing?
Need to see more, NOT sure frame will hold up to USA "ground" conditions?
Interesting!!

But problem is this and he needs to address this issue when u go no till u better realize that ur crops will be fighting with the weeds and grasses for water and u will be spending a lot more money on weed control using pesticides then doing a light till on crop ground

REPLY TO GARY ROACH: I don´t know the weeds you are struggling with in america. In some european areas the problems are grasses like black weed or bromegrass. Because of not mixing the ground you can get rid of these.

REPLY TO GARY ROACH: We’ve found that we only have to spray the ground twice before planting, which is on par with tillage systems for the most part.

REPLY TO GARY ROACH: My go to is 0.7L glyphosate and 0.3L 24d700 per acre for burndown, usually in the fall. Cost $10CAD for application and $10 for herbicides. What does erosion cost you and depletion of organic matter as well as machinery costs? How about the 70% labour savings?

Looks great, the only downside I see is 10" is way too wide for small grains and forages. Too bad he waited so long to go 100% no till.
