Don Niehs, general sales manager for Monosem, introduces the Response Smart Planting System Electric Row Unit. The new row unit features an electric down pressure system, electric down meter and electric depth control. It can run up to 24 rows off the tractor battery.

Monosem Inc. announces the new Monosem Response smart planting system, an electronically controlled and adjusted row unit. 

Each row unit has individual electric downforce control with active on-the-go adjustment, electric variable-rate seed metering control and electric seed depth control. It utilizes the latest in 12 volt motor and controller technology to provide precise control with high torque output and low power requirements. No hydraulic power is required to operate this system, reducing the demands on the tractor while bringing added safety and ease of use with electronic controls.

The system is wirelessly controlled by an app from an Android tablet. Every row can be individual programmed and tailored to the farmer’s requirements right from the tractor cab, giving growers uniform planting depth adjustment in small increments. Seed spacing, individual row shutoff and variable-rate planting can all be controlled with the press of a button. Curve compensation and the ability to stagger seeds for twin-row planting brings an update to the patented Monosem Sync-Row system.

Monosem Response also utilizes the same field-proven shock absorber technology as the original Monoshox, but improves on the patented downforce system by adding electronic, from-the-cab adjustment that actively compensates for in-field conditions. 

The Monosem Response smart planting system is available for all Monosem NG+ planter models.
