Plemty of highly practical ideas for combining burndown herbicides with liquid nitrogen for more effective early-season weed control came out of a survey conducted last winter.

Attendees at the seventh annual National No-Tillage Conference in St. Louis, Mo., shared ideas on combining these products to increase weed control.

“Liquid nitrogen increases triazine herbicide activity.”

“We use 28 percent liquid nitrogen, 2,4-D and Bicep in a one-pass early preplant program.”

“We apply 1 to 5 gallons per acre of liquid nitrogen as a herbicide enhancer.”

“We mix 10 gallons of 28 percent nitrogen with no-till corn herbicide.”

“We mix 1 gallon of 28 percent liquid nitrogen with our herbicides.”
