Experimenting With Different Varieties In Ohio No-Till
This episode of Cam in the Cab, a video podcast of Ohio Country Journal, host Dusty Sonnenberg and guest farmer Shane Meyer talk about his hi-tech equipment set up and using different varieties of organic and no-till soybeans.
One-Implement Band Plants Green
If there’s one thing we hear time and again in farming circles, it’s that the future of agriculture will require doing more with less. That thought comes to mind from this brief video of a combination roller-crimper-planter in action on Rademacher Farm in Champagne County, Ill. With one pass, the covers are crimped and the seeds are planted.
U of I Discusses Row Crop Rotations
This video from the University of Illinois Extension is a little more academic than our usual videos, but discusses various row crop and double crop rotations in terms of calories and crude protein produced. No crop rotation decision can be made lightly, but this discussion can lay the broad groundwork for future decision making.
“Black Magic” for No-Tillers
Now that academia is out of the way, we can get back to what you’re here for: cool videos of farming and canny Tweets about ag life. Speaking of which, there’s some very competent dronesmanship on display in this video from Potosi, Wis., from the Youtube Channel HowFarmsWork, with some bonus discussion about fertilizer and herbicides.
No-Tillers Move On To Growing Season
Hopefully planting is nearing completion or done. And that means crop scouting and post-emergence herbicide season is here!. However, given the calendar date and weather, some growers might still be out there, so here’s a photo to keep your eyes on the prize, via Twitter. The user Amy Tabb, a computer science researcher working on the intersection of agriculture and computers, posted these lovely photos of no-till corn starting to emerge. She even invented the hashtag #MaizeofTwitter to help share photos like them.

Today's complex chemical mixtures usually have a combination of bulk, jugs, and dry products. The high value products usually come in small packages. Mixmate is the only system designed to measure and process these products quickly. Jugs are processed in about 12 seconds. The Mixmate Fusion has a high flow rate rinsing system to ease dry product measurement and induction. This makes mixing on demand a breeze!
