The Bozeman workshop of the Soil Health Workshop series, hosted by the Soil & Water Conservation Districts of Montana, will be held on Nov. 3, with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. The workshop will begin with Susan Tallman, a conservation agronomist and certified crops advisor, on "Soil Health Principles," at 9 a.m. Neil Dennis, a Canadian rancher and grazer, will follow with "Grazing for Soil Health." Before lunch, weed specialist Fabian Menalled will cover "Using Sheep to Graze Cover Crops and Reduce Tillage." After lunch, Montana State University Extension soil fertility specialist Clain Jones will give a presentation on "Cover Crop Effects on Soil Quality," and the workshop will wrap up by 4 p.m. with a local producer panel and field trial results.
Early registration ends Oct. 26 and costs $15.
