Event Description

Attendees will learn the keys to a successful cover crop experience. Registration and exhibits will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with presentations running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lunch and additional breaks in between. 

Presentations include: 

  • Cover Crops & Soil Health — Roger Windhorn, NRCS geologist
  • Economics of Cover Crops — Byron Kirwan, NRCS economist
  • Current Cover Crop Research & Management — Mike Plumer, Illinois CBMP cover crop specialist
  • Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy — Peter Fandel, Illinois Central College & Illinois CBMP cover crop specialist
  • Avoiding Animal Health Issues When Grazing Cover Crops — Dean Oswald, Illinois CBMP cover crop specialist
  • Cover Crops & Chemical Issues (Germination/Termination) — Peter Fandel, Illinois Central College & Illinois CBMP cover crop specialist
