Event Description

A southeast farmer meeting to share with farmers and farm advisers results from nitrogen use efficiency, soil health, and water quality monitoring projects is set to take place in Southeast Wisconsin at the end of the month. Presentations will be given by Discovery Farms staff and Francisco Arriaga of UW-Madison. The UW Discovery Farms Program is your Wisconsin-based resource for unbiased research and water quality information. Research happens on farms around the state, including 9 farms in the southeast.

This is a great opportunity to hear about results from the projects taking place in Dodge, Jefferson, and Rock Counties and learn about ways to get involved. Projects include:

  • Nitrogen use efficiency
  • Water quality monitoring
  • Soil health measures

There will be plenty of delicious food and ample opportunity for discussion with fellow farmers and advisers, Discovery Farms staff, and project participants. Come hear about what the program is up to in southeast Wisconsin, what the southeast-specific data is showing and how you might get involved. The meeting will be held at Plattdeutscher Hall on 115 So. Second St. in Watertown and begins at 1 p.m. All farmers and advisers welcome! RSVP is requested. RSVP by calling 715.983.5668 or by emailing callie.herron@ces.uwex.edu.
