Several years ago with the support of Agro-Culture Liquid Fertilizers, we added the Responsible Nutrient Management Practitioner's Program. The idea was to honor no-tillers being efficient and effective with their fertilizer program, and provide them a forum to share their tips and techniques with other no-tillers.
We've done this with a special program at the National No-Tillage Conference's Friday noon luncheon where one of the award recipients gives a presentation on his fertility practices. Plus, we share these several growers' fertility techniques through a feature article in the April issue of No-Till Farmer and a special program handout at the conference.
I'd like to encourage you to nominate a no-tiller (deadline has passed) today whose fertility program you find worthy for consideration. Or, if you feel you've taken some extraordinary steps to be more effective, efficient or responsible with nutrient use and placement, you may nominate yourself.
The award recipients will be provided free travel and hotel accommodations, as well as free registration, to the 20th annual National No-Tillage Conference in St. Louis, Mo., from Jan. 11 to 14, 2012.
This program has provided a great exchange of valuable fertility ideas for no-tillers to consider. Visit www.rnmf.org to learn about the Responsible Nutrient Management Foundation and nominate a no-tiller (deadline has passed) for this special award.
