Happy Groundhog Day. Jimmy the groundhog from Sun Prairie, Wis., did not see his shadow today. He couldn't come out of his hole because it was buried by snow. Serves him right, since he's obviously not a no-tiller.

Speaking of digging a hole, Nebraska no-tillers should be aware that if they want to do something as simple as pull soil samples, they need to call the "Digger's Hotline."

"What?" you say. That's right. While at the No-Till on the Plains meeting last week in Salina, Kan., Ray Ward of Ward Laboratories said this is something to watch because it could spill over to other states.
