Doctors often tell their patients to reduce their salt intake as part of a healthy lifestyle. While you may try to keep an eye on your personal salt intake, researchers from Virginia Tech are taking a look at how much salt there is in the soil under your feet.

According to the University of Nebraska, occasional tillage (OT) in no-till systems may be useful and unlikely to be detrimental if it is well-planned, implemented to target a well-characterized problem such as a weed control or compaction and erosion is controlled.

Three growers have been honored for their efficient and effective use of applied fertilizer in their no-till systems. Named as the 12th class of Responsible Nutrient Management Practitioners, the no-tillers were honored before 900 farmers during the 28^th annual National No-Tillage Conference.
