The Federal Judge overseeing the multidistrict litigation for Monsanto’s dicamba-based XtendiMax herbicide with VaporGrip technology and its genetically modified, herbicide-resistant Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybean varieties said a lawsuit by a Missouri farm that alleges Monsanto conspired to create an “ecological disaster” should go to a jury.

BASF HAS AGREED to acquire significant parts of Bayer’s seed and non-selective herbicide businesses for $7 billion, part of a move by Bayer to divest assets in anticipation of its acquisition of Monsanto. The assets include Bayer’s non-selective herbicide business, commercialized under the Liberty, Basta and Finale brands, as well as its seed businesses for key row crops in select markets.

AGCO announced an agreement to acquire the Precision Planting equipment business from The Climate Corp., a subsidiary of Monsanto Co. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
