In this fertility-focused webinar, sponsored by Montag Mfg., we welcome nutrient management specialist Fabián Fernández to share the latest research results and his thoughts on effective placement of phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) in no-till and strip-till systems.
No-tillers will learn:
- Herbicide families and how each class works within the plant
- What chemistries cause the most concern for summer and fall cover crop seeding
- Forage considerations from late summer herbicide applications
- Spring burndown takeaways — what works and which species require more management
Scott’s presentation was followed by a Q&A.

Assistant Professor, Department of Soil, Water, and Climate University of Minnesota
Fabián's research and extension education programs are focused on soil nutrient management and plant mineral nutrition. His current work concentrates primarily on environmental issues related to nutrient management of corn cropping systems. Fabián seek to identify and implement nitrogen management practices that are sustainable both in terms of minimizing environmental impacts, specifically water quality, and improving crop yields.
