AMONG THE MANY products introduced this fall by agricultural companies, precision and efficiency seem to be the two main themes. Several manufacturers recently unveiled products that give growers more control over planting and nutrient applications, while accomplishing fieldwork even faster than before.
Here are some of the newest tools and technologies that may provide a benefit to your no-till farming system.
- Similar to NutriSphere-N for liquid, Verdesian Life Sciences’ NutriSphere-NH3 is a nitrogen (N) stabilizer for anhydrous ammonia that features an additive that keeps the freezing point good to -40 F. It deactivates three bacterial enzymes that cause volatilization, denitrification and leaching, and increases microbial populations by supplying more ammonium N. NutriSphere-NH3 can be applied with SureFire Ag’s Catalyst system, which comes with a complete set of knives made specifically for it.
- Rootella from Groundwork BioAg is a pure, 100% natural mycorrhizal inoculant that helps restore mycorrhizal balance and improve plant nutrient uptake. The Rootella product line is available in granular, powder and fine powder forms, a suspension form for sprinklers or spraying, as well as a seed treatment.
