Dean Markwardt, like 659 other no-tillers around the country, came to the seventh annual National No-Tillage Conference in St. Louis to reap the benefits of acclaimed speakers, network with accomplished no-tillers and participate in numerous no-till roundtables. Little did he know he would be the most envied no-tiller in the bunch.
This Sheffield, Iowa, no-tiller is the sixth attendee to win full use of a no-till drill for a year. For five years, United Farm Tools donated one-year usage of a no-till drill for one lucky no-till winner.
This tradition continued after Art’s-Way purchased the production and marketing rights to these no-till drills last fall. The company has also announced that the one year free usage of another no-till drill will be presented to an attendee at next January’s eighth National No-Tillage Conference being held in Des Moines, Iowa, from January 12 to 15.
Designed for use in stubborn soil conditions, this Art’s-Way drill features a hydraulic transfer system that allows the entire weight of the drill to be shifted to the coulters for easy soil penetration. Staggered double-disc openers and no-till coulters are fully adjustable for varied row spacing. A no-till toolbar built into the mainframe of the drill eliminates the need for a coulter caddy.
