Representing the newest evolution in Roundup technology, Monsanto has introduced Roundup UltraMAX herbicide. This formulation provides 25 percent more power per gallon and exclusive TranSorb technology while delivering the best available weed control and crop safety already available with other Roundup Ready technologies.
Having recently been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, the newly-formulated herbicide will be available in 30-gallon drums and 120-gallon key lock shuttles.
“We’ve found Roundup has over a 95 percent satisfaction rating with surveyed growers. However, we are continually looking for innovative ways to meet their ever-changing needs,” says Dean Hendrickson, Monsanto’s U.S. Roundup Brand Manager. He says this herbicide meets the request for a more concentrated product that contains the exclusive TranSorb technology which enhances plant uptake, translocation and rainfastness.
Some 70 percent of surveyed growers indicated a product which offered more power per gallon without sacrificing weed control or Roundup Ready crop safety was needed in any new product.
“Since Roundup UltraMAX contains 25 percent more active ingredient than Roundup Ultra, growers can spray more acres from every container,” says Hendrickson. At recommended rates, growers can spray about 30 additional acres from a 30-gallon drum of the herbicide. With less handling, mixing, loading and triple rinsing of containers, this saves time and leads to more efficient weed control.
Hendrickson says Roundup UltraMAX also qualifies for Monsanto’s Technology Value Package, a program that offers a number of risk reduction benefits for growers who purchase Roundup Ready technology and Roundup herbicides.
