Those of us at No-Till Farmer are a bit confused. We don’t understand why you don’t come to the annual National No-Tillage Conference, soon to be held for the 12th time. We know you’re open-minded and looking to make the best living you can on your farm, or you wouldn’t be no-tilling. After all, you had the guts to put down the plow and look for a better way. So what’s keeping you from joining us in Des Moines?

Our guess is that no-tilling is working pretty well for you, so you just don’t feel it’s worth the time, money and effort to attend the conference. If that’s the case, forgive us for saying that you’re mistaken. Please let us tell you why.

The $199 registration fee is an investment in your farm, less expensive than replacing one blown tractor tire that gets knocked out by no-till stubble (a problem to be addressed at the coming conference). And this investment pays off big! (Last year’s attendees estimated their annual income growth from ideas picked up at the conference at more than $8,000.) Plus, a spouse can register for free, so that’s two people for $199. Plus, the fee and room costs are tax deductible. And the fee is fully refundable if you’re not satisfied with the conference. No one asks for the refund because farmers are honest folks who leave happy.
