I’m a Canadian farmer and I have always liked the way your government had all these programs for you. Up until now your governments have always liked and appreciated farmers. Up here in Canada our politicians have not recognized or done anything for farmers other than supply managed farmers for 20 years. I do not wish that on any farmers. Just know Canadian beef pork and grain farmers know your pain because we go through this same lack of funding from our government.

Why couldn't farmers see this coming? Why did you vote for him?

Wouldn't it be great to break dependence on government subsidies?

GOOD! Those of us who have been on the ACTUAL leading edge have been doing it on our own, then it looks like an okay thing, so then government SUPPORT for the late comers. Crop subsidies for Irrigated crops that arren't bringing the cost of production, then make it supply and demand, rather than pay to over produce.

I hesitate to state this, but I started no-tilling 18 yrs ago and started using cover crops 7 yrs, ago, without any government funding/assistance. I did it because of the benefit I saw for my farm and soil, not because of a government check. I watched and learned from others with experience, adding in my own experiences to change things to work in my situation.
