Liquid fertilizer company AgroLiquid announced Wednesday that it has acquired Monty’s Plant Food in a deal to take effect in January.
Monty’s, which makes plant and soil enhancement products for ag, lawn and garden, hemp and wildlife markets, will continue to operate as a private company under the AgroLiquid umbrella. Monty’s CEO Jeff Sangalli will continue to lead Monty’s business, AgroLiquid said in a news release.
AgroLiquid says the deal brings together two family-founded businesses, “that excel in agricultural innovation and share a commitment to farmer success.
“This strategic combination allows us to bring crop nutrition technologies to growers that wouldn’t otherwise be available to them,” says Nick Bancroft, CEO of AgroLiquid.
“While both companies share the same goals in advancing agricultural innovation, our different approaches to achieving them will create new opportunities to optimize nutrient efficiency and productivity for growers.”
Sangalli said in a statement the deal “marks an exciting new chapter” for the company. “Our shared farmer-first philosophy and commitment to innovation made this a natural fit. By combining our complementary strengths, weʼre positioned to deliver even greater value to the agricultural industry.”
AgroLiquid said the integration of the two companies will focus on “leveraging operational capabilities, including manufacturing, warehousing and storage infrastructure to enhance service for customers. The combined entity, “will maintain both companies’ existing product lines while exploring opportunities for technological advancement in plant and crop nutrition solutions.”
