Last Deere Moldboard Plow Shows Up at Farm Show

John Deere stopped production of the 3710 moldboard plow in 2023, and the last one of these plows ever sold showed up at Farmfest near Morgan, Minn., in July. The use of the plow has been declining in recent years, thanks to advances in planters, adoption of no-till and fewer farmers growing alfalfa and perennial grasses, says Jodi DeJong-Hughes, an educator with the University of Minnesota who specializes in reduced tillage.

Shark Farmer: Leave Comfort Zone to Survive Tough Ag Economy

"The reason that I'm farming today is because of the decisions and businesses started in other downtimes," he says in this TikTok video.
