Autonomy in action! Salin 247's autonomous no-till planter is off and running in Iowa this spring. The lightweight, electric-powered planter no-tilled soybeans in Webster County, Iowa as part of the company's Early Planted Soybean project with the Iowa Soybean Association and Iowa State University.
A few weeks later, the planter was back in action, planting corn on a strip-tilled field for an Iowa State nitrogen study. Salin 247 founder Dave Krog says they will return to the field next month to autonomously sidedress 5 different 32% UAN treatments. We'll check back in with Krog's crew soon to see how it goes.
