An event carrying on the late Dave Brandt's vision for a farmer-led learning center will be held Sept. 14 in southwestern Wisconsin.
Brandt passed away unexpectedly May 20. Before his death, the No-Till Legend and regenerative ag pioneer was working to launch a farmer-led learning center. An effort is now underway to bring his vision to life at the Sinsinawa Mound Center in southwestern Wisconsin on Sept. 14, and the group of no-tillers carrying on his vision invite other farmers to be a part of it. Presentations will be given by Jay Brandt, No-Till Innovator Rick Clark, 2023 Conservation Ag Operator Fellow and No-Till Innovator Loran Steinlage and Oklahoma no-tiller Jimmy Emmons.
Farmers are invited to join the group from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14 for an inclusive look at agriculture today. Registration is free and includes lunch.
Activities will include:
- An interactive discussion about how to move forward together toward great soil health.
- A tour of the Sinsinawa Mound grounds and an overview of how a farmer-led learning center can be realized.
- A premiere viewing of the movie, “Common Ground” (sequel to “Kiss the Ground”) with an open discussion afterward.
Register by Thursday, Sept. 7. A link to register and more details are available here.
