A number of university extension have been commenting on a recent article in the March 2010 issue of No-Till Farmer titled, "Are We Shooting Ourselves In The Foot With A Silver Bullet?" that was published on pages 6 and 7.
This article featured comments based upon research and field observations by retired Purdue University plant pathologist Don Huber and Boone, Iowa, agronomist Bob Streit. They expressed concerns that the high use of glyphosate is leading to micronutrient deficiencies in soybeans that may be making them more vulnerable to disease and causing them to mature earlier, among other things.
The following are either links to university Web sites that offer commentary from Extension agronomists about the subject. Since this article has appeared to arouse a chorus of debate, we thought you ought to have more opinions on the matter.
