Howard Buffett has traveled to 95 countries, often documenting the challenges of resource-limited farmers. The 1,600-acre no-tiller with farms in central Illinois and eastern Nebraska has also addressed the reintegration of returning refugees and internally displaced persons who depend on agriculture in post-conflict-affected lands. He has helped facilitate integrated water delivery and management, including small-scale irrigation for farmers in developing countries.
Buffett, an 18-year no-tiller and manager of 6,000 acres in South Africa, will take you around the world with his photographs from more than 60 locations and discuss the difficulties of farmers in emerging countries.
Buffett’s foundation has funded 45 agricultural projects globally, primarily in Africa and Latin America, all of which are based on the concept of no-till. As a U.N. Ambassador Against Hunger for the World Food Program, he will discuss the role of U.S. farmers in global food assistance.
