When Roger Wenning decided to try strip-till corn, he started small by building a homemade strip-till rig from a Case IH 900 dry planter. Today, the Greensburg, Ind., farmer bands fertilizer with spring strip-till trips, allowing corn roots to more easily pick up nutrients and preventing runoff losses and pollution common with broadcast applications.

Wenning will also share a number of other valuable things he’s learned on his southern Indiana farm, including his work with cover crops like annual ryegrass, cereal rye and clover; his no-till planter setup for planting into strips; and his weed-control program.
