While some farmers like to joke, “No-till, no yield,” Gabe Brown believes that if it hadn’t been for no-till, he would have no farm. When the Bismarck, N.D., no-tiller realized he needed to make a drastic change in his farming operation or face bankruptcy, he turned to no-till, among other practices, to become profitable again.
Brown will share how his highly diversified zero-tillage system has evolved to the point that his farm has attracted visitors from all 50 states and 15 foreign countries. He’ll share how he has moved his cropping and grazing system toward sustainability with minimal inputs. It’s his belief that you need to fail at something every year to get better and he will challenge you to think outside the box.
