The Pennsylvania No-Till Alliance is hosting its 10th anniversary and a soil health field day on July 28, 2015.
Featured speakers and topics include:
NRCS conservation agronomist Ray Archuleta, who will discuss biological nutrient cycling and provide a wrap-up on cover crop plots.
Leroy Bupp, who owns and manages a 175-cow dairy herd in southern York County with his wife and has been a Board member of the PA No-Till Alliance for more than 30 years. Bupp will have a soil health presentation demonstrating the effective absorption properties of no-tilled soil vs. plowed soil that experiences water runoff.
Ohio no-tiller Dave Brandt, who will guide a cover crop plot walk and provide further insights.
Frank Lessiter, founder and editor of No-Till Farmer magazine, who will give a past-to-present view on no-till farming.
A 10th anniversary dinner and recognition program will follow in the evening.
