Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is hosting a workshop on cover cropping and soil health from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Lubbock.
According to Mark Brown, AgriLife Extension agronomist, the goal of the program is to bring forth information to start the validation process necessary to determine whether the benefits outweigh the costs of cover cropping under the growing conditions in Texas. Speakers include staff from AgriLife, Texas Tech University, USDA-NRCS and several area producers who have used cover crops.
Growers can access educational materials here. Registration is $30. RSVP by March 4 to the AgriLife Extension office at 806-775-1740.
