Rick Clark is a 5th generation Williamsport, Indiana farmer. Rick believes in "Farming Green" — a systematic approach to regenerative soil health. That is what he practices on the 7,000 acres he manages for Clark Land and Cattle.
Rick has been farming for 35 years and has included no-till and cover crops in his system for the last 10 years. He is a Purdue University graduate with an Ag Economics degree. He has been featured in No-Till Farmer magazine, was the keynote speaker for the National No-Tillage Conference, and was the 2019 Field to Market Farmer of the Year. Rick will be speaking on the benefits of farming green and the economic impact of regenerative farming.
Matt Alford is a 5th generation farmer from Blue Earth, Minn. Matt believes in keeping solid records of changes to his farming operation to determine what is successful. Matt will share some of his insights in researching soil health changes on his farm including economic impacts.
Matt is a member of the Faribault Soil Health team and was a speaker for the 2019 National Strip-Tillage Conference. The event will conclude with a local farmer panel describing the changes they have made to their operations.
