I'm wrapping up this issue of E-Tip in the wee hours. The reason is simple. We're about to send our blockbuster Spring Buyer's Directory issue to the printers on Thursday, and we're working OT to get it done.
It's looking like a 164-page issue with about 60 pages of product, supplier and brand listings that you can use as a resource all year-round.
This issue contains our third annual No-Till Practices Survey that serves as a benchmark for no-tillers to compare themselves to their peers. Here's thanks to 502 of our subscribers who took the time to fill out a 66-question survey.
Here's one tidbit from the survey: no-tillers, on average, saw a net increase in revenue of nearly $30,000 per farm despite the fact that overall yields — for corn, in particular — were down significantly in 2010.
Overall, the mood is good as we enter another production season. It should remain good if demand for grain crops stays high and no-tillers realize reasonable yields.
