No-Tilled soils in the Great Plains were much more stable than plowed soils, according to a multi-year study by the USDA's Agricultural Research Service and universities.

Kansas State University scientists have completed long-term evaluations of a limited number of independent kochia (Kochia scoparia) populations on privately-owned land in western Kansas that are now confirmed to be glyphosate-resistant.

Winter finally seems to be coming to an end, so it's time to start topdressing nitrogen (N) on the winter wheat crop. With good soil moisture in many areas of the state, and some fairly small wheat in many fields due to late planting, there are some key elements that need to be considered when deciding on the exact program you plan to use. These include: timing, N source, application method and N rate.

"Overall, the research suggests U.S. no-till agriculture has more to gain than lose with the passage of H.R. 2454," said Dr. Bill Golden, Dept. of Agricultural Economics at KSU and the team's leader.
