From farmers, to retailers, to the supply chain, and even presidential candidates, there is a growing recognition that adopting soil health practices is critical to improving environmental outcomes on farms.
Being on the ground working with our nation's agricultural producers, American Farmland Trust learned firsthand that farmers believe the scientific evidence that shows soil health practices improve soil and water quality. Even so, the adoption has been low due to perceived financial risk of trying something new, the risk of investment on rented lands, and the lack of information about how much the soil health practices will cost or benefit them.
That's why American Farmland Trust set out to find farmers who are successfully implementing soil health practices and with their permission conducted an economic analysis of their soil health journey.
Check out these four new “Accelerating Soil Health” case studies from American Farmland Trust, adding to the four studies they released in 2019.
