Slugs can cause a significant amount of damage in field crops like corn and soybeans and are a particular problem in the ecological environment that comes with no-till production — with no easy answers on management, says Kelley Tilmon.
But the situation isn’t hopeless, she says. The entomologist at Ohio State University Extension will discuss slug biology and management, including factors that relate to slug problems, and some of the different control measures that are available to deal with them and protect your crops and the bottom line.
