How To Make Nitrogen and Influence People
If you’re looking to turn your manure green, or even seriously evaluating cover crops in this year of nose-bleed high input prices, or you’ve had bad experiences in the past, the No-Till Growers Youtube Channel has some tips for what to avoid. While the growers in question are small-scale market horticulturalists, some of the principles can apply to larger outfits.
Milan Field Day Returns In-Person
After going virtual in 2020, organizers of the 32nd Milan No-Till Field Day announced this week that it’ll return live on July 28 at the University of Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center at Milan. The field day began in 1981 as a way to teach local producers the benefits of no-till farming and was soon attracting tens of thousands of farmers, and served as the debut for many equipment prototypes. In this quick video, director Blake Brown recaps the history of the world’s largest no-till event, which he attended as a 17-year-old.
North American Manure Expo Returns In-Person
The "Super Bowl" of manure joins the roster of events returning in-person as states and some cities loosen restrictions for gathering. The Manure Expo will be held this year in Chambersburg, Penn. The expo is focused on new research and product launches, or, as the below informational video puts it, "the application of science and technology and the science and technology of application." It also caters to custom manure outfits and other large-scale manure-focused industries.
At Least They Spelled It Right ...
After a Twitter user attacked "glyphosate" as a source of "gluten intolerance," user Bradley Hoene jumped in to point out the error. Hoene and the USDA both agree that glyphosate-resistant wheat strains aren't in wide use. In fact, when glyphosate resistant wheat shows up outside of test plots, it usually prompts an investigation.
We know the feeling. It's like that one episode of the CBS show "Evil" where someone describes anhydrous ammonia as a pesticide.
“When you find out if you spray glyphosate on a wheat crop…you no longer have a wheat crop” pic.twitter.com/rYFtu4calj

Today's complex chemical mixtures usually have a combination of bulk, jugs, and dry products. The high value products usually come in small packages. Mixmate is the only system designed to measure and process these products quickly. Jugs are processed in about 12 seconds. The Mixmate Fusion has a high flow rate rinsing system to ease dry product measurement and induction. This makes mixing on demand a breeze!
