In this presentation, no-tiller Ryan Speer explains how after a disastrous 2011 with 55 straight days over 100 F and half the average rainfall, his decision to cut back on cover crops was a huge mistake.

The manager of Jacob Farms at Sedgwick, Kan., explains how cover crops fit in the farm’s crop rotation, the goals of cover crops, yield and financial data, fertility and organic-matter changes, and the things he’s learned about cover cropping from both periods of high rainfall and droughty conditions.
