Cautions and Considerations for Using Drones to Spray Herbicides

Spray Herbicides As UAVs (aka drones) for spraying is gaining popularity, no-tillers need to temper their expectations about the capabilities of drones for spraying herbicides. Bryan Young, professor of weed science at Purdue Univ., says research into drones for spraying has shown that a drone set to spray a 30-foot swath width really only provided a 10-foot strip of coverage. He outlines the factors and research to consider when performing spray applications with drones, including the insurance risks you need to know when choosing an applicator, carrier volume issues, adjuvant usage and more.
