Comparing 50 Years of No-Till to Other Tillage Systems

While the benefits of continu- ous no-till are widely known, it’s no secret that no-till still isn’t widely used in the Midwest, especially when it comes to growing corn. Southern Illinois Univ.’s Amir Sadeghpour and Amanda Weidhuner took a closer look at a long-term tillage trial established in 1970 to assess what decades of no-till does for the soil. They share the tremendous benefits of long-term no-till — and its limitations — in this data-driven research presentation.
