Pinnacle Crop Technologies is hosting a crop health workshop on Monday, Jan. 26 at the Ambassador Hotel in Salina. The workshop will help no-tillers increase profits (and/or decrease risk) with minimal additional cost or labor, while improving the soil.
With some topics running out of time last year, the workshop is pushing those topics earlier into the schedule — specifically nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer additives, as well as discussion on what sources, methods and time for applying N, P and S are most effective in no-till. Other topics include controlling glyphosate-resistant Palmer pigweeds, kochia, marestail and waterhemp; tricks for maximizing herbicide performance; preventing and alleviating soil compaction and more. Speakers include Pinnacle's Matt Hagny, Aurora Co-op agronomist and staunch no-till advocate Leland Baxa, and John Grove from the University of Kentucky. More information is available on Pinnacle's website.
The workshop will be held from 9am to 6pm. Cost is $200, which will increase to $275 if registration is received after Jan. 18. Lunch, snacks and beverages are included. Registration is limited to 200 people.
