BROOKINGS — SDSU Extension will host the annual 2020 No-Till event in Wall at the Community Center, on January 14, 2020. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The program begins at 10 a.m. and will continue until 3:30 p.m. MT.
The event will cover a variety of topics including:
- Improving Cropland with Livestock, Michael Thompson, farmer-rancher from Almena, Kan.
- A History of Phosphate Export from the Region, Dave Franzen, NDSU Extension soil fertility specialist.
- Using Manure to Increase Organic Matter and Carbon, John Lentz, NRCS resource conservationist.
The event will also include a panel discussion with Shawn Freeland, rancher from Caputa, S.D., Dan Forgey, agronomist from Gettysburg, and Marty Philips, crop consultant from Winner, S.D.
Lunch will be provided. Registration is free, however, to accommodate the meal, pre-registration is requested. Certified Crop Advisor Credits will also be available.
SDSU Extension is hosting this event in conjunction with the South Dakota No-Till Association and the South Dakota Natural Resources Conservation Service. This event also includes a trade show with numerous local sponsors.
