For this 2025 National No-Tillage Conference preview, No-Till Living Legend Ray McCormick checks in from Vincennes, Ind., with a look at how he’s seeding cover crops from the combine.

Cover crops are an integral part of McCormick’s system, and although he’s been planting them for decades, he’s refining his techniques every year. During his general session presentation, the 2024 Conservation Ag Operator Fellow will share observations from a challenging growing season, including the impact of cover crops in an extremely wet spring. He’ll also dive deeper into his playbook for seeding covers from the combine and will detail his envelope-pushing experiments planned for 2025.
