Do you have any significant worries for 2022?

January 10, 2022

Not really any worries, just not sure how to position our fertilizer purchases. Fortunately we don't need any machinery unless an excellent deal comes along.  With no-till we just don't put on many hours. Luckily, we grid sampled in fall of 2020 so we know the soil test levels for the most part are in great shape and we can efficiently manage our fertilizer applications with these high nutrient costs. We are also in uncommon marketing territory so we're not quite sure how much grain to market.

I guess my biggest concerns are the overall health of our Country's economy, and our world marketing opportunities. Both of these issues along with this huge inflation of fertilizer and equipment make for unstable times ahead. We'll just have to keep our powder dry and be ready for the rodeo ride.
